Sexual Assault Awareness Month

  • April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (S.A.A.M.)
  • S.A.A.M. brings attention to sexual violence as a widespread issue which impacts people in our community
  • This month, take time to educate yourself and others on what sexual assault is, and how you can prevent it
  • take back the night

Take Back the Night

  • April 18th from 6:30-8pm at the Campus Center: Cole Cinema and Patio
  • TBTN is a worldwide movement to stand up against sexual violence of all forms
  • At this event we will have guest speakers, a performance by student acapella group TNA, therapy animals, a small reception with food, and take a 1 lap walk/march around St. Johns pond
  • There will also be an opportunity for attendees to speak out and share their story

Events

Tabling for S.A.A.M.

  • April 6th at 1pm for men’s lacrosse game
    • JLR stadium
  • April 17th at 3:30pm for tennis match
    • Tennis courts
  • April 26th at 3pm for baseball
    • Baseball diamond
  • At these tabling events, students can participate in Clothesline Project
    • Write a messages to survivors on a white t-shirt that will be displayed at the Campus Center

Seahawks After Dark Events

Discoteca hosted by Alianza

  • April 5th from 9pm-11pm at DPC
  • There will be mocktails, a DJ, and more!

Unity Ball hosted by Multicultural Programming

  • April 19th from 9pm-11:30pm at the ARC
  • Experience the electrifying fusion of house ballroom culture. Join us for an unforgettable evening of fierce competition, dazzling performances, and unbridled creativity, all complemented by delicious food and drinks - it’s an event not to be missed
