Are you interested in becoming a teacher?

In preparation for spring advising opportunities, the Department of Educational Studies invites you to fill out the Interest in Applying to the MAT Form. This form allows you to indicate your interest in following one of the MAT program pathways.

Indicating your interest on this form ensures that you are on a smooth path to the MAT! You will have priority in registering for classes and access to a faculty advisor in the Department of Educational Studies.

  • The MAT is a program where students will receive their Master of Arts in Teaching and their teaching certification in just ten short months!
  • Candidates will participate in an internship with a mentor teacher, complete a Master’s Research Project and their edTPA portfolio.
  • We offer certification in over eighteen areas including: Elementary, Secondary/K-12, and Special Education.
  • We offer several different pathways including a 3+1 program, where students can graduate with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in the same time as a traditional Bachelor’s program, or Dual Enrollment, where students complete their Master’s during their first year of teaching.
  • 97% of our MAT candidates are hired immediately following graduation.
