Dear Campus Community,
It is my pleasure to announce that Elka Porter will be the next Associate Professor of Marine Science for St. Mary's College of Maryland. Elka comes to St. Mary's from the University of Baltimore where she has held the position of Associate Professor of Environmental Science since 2020. Elka plans to begin her position with St. Mary's on August 1, 2022.
A strong pool of candidates applied and the search committee selected accomplished, qualified and distinctive finalists. I want to thank the Marine Science Search Committee and everyone on campus who contributed to this successful search. Please join me in welcoming Elka and her family to St. Mary's College.
